<p>Nata nel <strong>1999</strong> negli Stati Uniti d&#8217;America, per la precisione nel Maine, al momento della nascita i medici davano circa <strong>due</strong> <strong>mesi</strong> <strong>di</strong> <strong>vita</strong> alla bambina, ma Shiloh sovvertendo il loro parere, ha vissuto per <strong>10 anni</strong> ed è cresciuta, nonostante tutto e per quanto possibile, <strong>serena</strong> e <strong>felice</strong>.</p>
<p>La piccola era affetta da un <strong>difetto</strong> <strong>congenito</strong> raro il cui nome è <strong>sirenomelia</strong>, o come detto &#8220;<strong>Sindrome</strong> <strong>della</strong> <strong>Sirena</strong>&#8220;. Le conseguenze di tale difetti congenito riguarda la fusione dei <strong>due</strong> <strong>arti</strong> <strong>inferiori</strong>, e il malfunzionamento di alcuni <strong>organi</strong>, come quelli riproduttivi.</p>

<p>A partire dalle ore 23 di stasera, mercoledì 29 luglio, <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Time</strong> dà dunque spazio all&#8217;approfondimento circa la storia della bambina sirena, <strong>Shilon</strong> <strong>Pepin</strong>, affetta come detto dalla <strong>sirenomelia</strong> o &#8220;<strong>Sindrome</strong> <strong>della</strong> <strong>Sirena</strong>&#8220;.</p>
<p>La vita della piccola, prima della sua triste <strong>scomparsa</strong> avvenuta nel <strong>2009</strong>, quando aveva <strong>10</strong> <strong>anni</strong>, non è stata facile: quest&#8217;ultima soffriva infatti di insufficienza renale e ha avuto due trapianti di rene.</p>

<p>Nonostante la condizioni di salute particolare, <strong>Shiloh</strong> era una bimba simpatica, socievole, anche a scuola, e pronta ad affrontare i duri step che la sindrome le poneva davanti.</p>
<p>Shiloh è scomparsa dopo una lunga lotta con una <strong>polmonite</strong> e la sua vita è stata raccontata nell&#8217;ambito di <em>The Oprah Winfrey Show.</em></p>
<p>La sua storia è diventata nota anche per il <strong>coraggio</strong> mostrato dalla piccola la cui vita ha superato ampiamente le previsioni e il parere dei medici.</p>
